In a stall week 3

Well I am coming to the end of my 3rd week of a stall.  It seems when I stall I have long stalls, last one was in September and lasted about 4 weeks.  I have accepted that stalls are part of the process, but they are never easy.  I am use to them so I happily tell myself that this to will pass, but it is so blinking frustrating!

I am sure my body is changing, I have upped the exercise and don't tell me muscle weighs more than fat, cause it might make me heave.  I discussed it with my doctor and physio and they say that it would take longer to make muscle, so it is just my body catching up.

I am retaining fluid though, so I blame it on the dreaded glycoden.  I drink 3 litres of water a day.  Thank God I track my food, so I know I have been good.  I will drop soon, it is just a matter of time.  I think the hardest is wanting to make the most of the first 6months, I am nearly 5 months out and stalled for 2 of them.  I will do this, I will make it and I am so thankful for my weight loss.

Thanks for listening.

Anne

Just keep going... the weight will come off.  You might want to start tracking your measurments as well, the may show that you are losing inches during your stall too!!!

You have done great so far... Keep up the good work

Enjoy your holidays!!

congrats for all the weight lost. i  look at stalls as your body adjusting, stopping to take a rest, recouping, and then it will be able to push on.  as on point as you sound, you should be losing again in no time.  just keep on keeping on, mydear

Hi, Anne - I can understand your frustration.  After the first 3-4 months after my surgery, my weight would stay the same or stall for 2-3 weeks, then I'd like 8-10 pounds in 7-10 days.  The I'd stall again for 2-3 weeks before I'd lose again.  I tracked my weight daily, so after several months I saw the pattern and just accepted that it was how my body worked.  I've read posts by several other folks who's bodies worked the same way; not sure why some of us lose that way, but we do.  Try not to get too disheartened; just keep doing the right things in terms of food intake, fluid intake, and exercise, and the weight will continue to come off over time.
